Property market sentiment is on the up around most of the country

An ME Bank report has found Aussies are now feeling more positive and confident about the property market.

The quarterly report says recovering house prices is driving the spike in confidence.

The report was a survey of 1000 people currently in the property market and found that 42 per cent of them said they felt good about the market, which was up 9 percentage points from the previous quarter.

Perth was the only capital city to record a fall in sentiment.

Tim Foote from Belle Property in Sydney spoke to Domain.

“Buyer sentiment is definitely positive,” he said.

“They’re finding that getting financing is easier, and there’s a sense that the market has bottomed out…that prices are improving, and sustainably so.”

Here in Melbourne, Michael Armstrong from Kay & Burton also gave his thoughts on the market to Domain.

“I found it surprising how quickly people went from being very pessimistic about property…to all of a sudden there being a big swing around,” he said.
